Dengan Hormat,
Sains perubahan iklim merupakan periode ‘penemuan negatif’ – semakin banyak kami mempelajari hal ini luar biasa kompleks dan dengan cepat bidang-bidangnya berkembang lebih dari yang kita sadari. Sungguh, ilmu pengetahuan tidak mengendap.

Karena itu, tidak ada alas an untuk menjatuhkan kebijakan public yang mahal dan bersifat membatasi terhadap rakyat di seluruh dunia tanpa pertama kali menyediakan bukti-bukti yang kuat bahwa aktifitas manusia menyebabkan perubahan iklim di luar sebab natural. Sebelum setiap tindak cepat dilakukan, kita harus memiliki data observasi yang sangat solid yang mendemonstrasikan bahwa iklim saat ini secara substansial telah berubah dari iklim masa lalu dan melebihi variasi perubahan normal yang disebabkan siklus matahari, gelombang samudra, perubahan parameter orbital dan fenomena alam lainnya.

Kami yang menandatangani surat ini, memiliki kualifikasi baik dalam disiplin ilmu yang berkaitan dengan iklim, meminta UNFCCC dan para pendukung Konferensi Perubahan Iklim PBB untuk menyodorkan BUKTI-BUKTI OBSERVASI ILMIAH YANG VALID atas klaim aktivitas manusia sebagai penyebab pemanasan global (global warming) dan perubahan iklim lainnya. Kemungkinan proyeksi skenarion masa depan dari model perubahan cuaca dari komputer yang belum dapat dibuktikan TIDAK DAPAT DITERIMA untuk menggantikan data ril dunia yang diperoleh dari investigasi ilmiah yang tidak bias dan valid.

Secara khusus, kami menantang para pendukung hipotesa bahaya aktifitas manusia sebagai penyebab perubahan iklim untuk mendemonstrasikan hal-hal berikut :
1. Variasi perubahan iklim global seratus tahun terakhir yang keluar secara signifikan dari rentang sifat alami iklim abad-abad sebelumnya.
2. Emisi gas karbon dioksida dan ‘greenhouse gases’ (GHG) lainnya memiliki dampak berbahaya bagi ikilm global.
3. Model berbasis computer dapat benar-benar meniru dampak seluruh faktor-faktor alamyang signifikan berpengaruh pada iklim global.
4. Permukaan laut meningkat berbahaya secara cepat seiring peningkatan emisi GHG, yang potensial mengancam pulau-pulau kecil dan komunitas pantai.
5. Insiden malaria meningkat disebabkan perubahan iklim hari ini.
6. Sosial manusia dan ekosistem alam tidak dapat beradaptasi dengan perubahan iklim seperti yang telah terjadi dimasa lalu.
7. Gletser di seluruh dunia mundur dan es mencair di wilayah kutub, fenomena yang dianggap tidak biasa dan berhubungan dengan emisi GHG.
8. Beruang kutub dan hewan liar Artik dan Antartika tidak mampu beradaptasi mengantisipasi efek perubahan iklim lokal, yang mandiri dari sebab-sebab perubahan tersebut.
9. Badai dan topan tropis lainnya berhubungan dengan cuaca ekstrem yang meningkat kekuatan dan frekuensinya.
10. Data yang direkam oleh stasiun bumi merupakan indikator yang layak dipercaya untuk mengetahui tren temperature permukaan.
Bukanlah tanggung jawab ilmuwan ‘realis iklim’ untuk membuktikan berbahayanya sebab-sebab manusia terhadap perubahan iklim sesunggunya tidak terjadi. Sebaliknya, mereka yang mengusung dan mempromosikan investasi besar-besaran terhadap ‘persoalan iklim global’ yang sebenarnya berhutang untuk mendemonstrasikan bukti-bukti kuat adanya perubahan iklim, jika kami tidak berbuat sedikitpun, perubahan yang merusak akan terjadi. Sampai saat ini, mereka telah gagal membuktikannya.
